Job Seekers
Getting your resume right
Your resume is the first impression you make on a recruiter or hiring manager, so your success in the job market relies heavily on getting this important document right. A well-structured and succinct resume will not only demonstrate your skills and experience but will also act as a marketing tool, promoting your personal brand to prospective employers. The goal of a resume is to impress the recipient enough to book you for a job interview.
The Job Interview
Interviews can be life-changing events, which is why many job seekers experience anxiety and nervousness. To help boost your confidence and soothe any pre-interview nerves, we recommend you review the job description and research the company and person you're interviewing with. Familiarise yourself with their clients, their company values and any recent work. Prepare some questions to ask during the interview and always arrive on time.

Roles In Real Estate
The job roles in real estate are varied and require different levels of responsibility and prior experience. It is highly advantageous to know what each role is responsible for on a daily basis.

Receptionist
This person is the first point of contact for the business. As well as manning the phones and assisting clients that walk in, the receptionist is usually responsible for a myriad of other duties ranging from stationery supply and general office orderliness to providing administrative support to the sales and/or property management departments.
Sales Administrator
This role is critical, in many respects, to the success of the real estate sales department. The sales secretary has the often-difficult job of ensuring that the ever-frenetic sales consultants have all their paperwork in order.

Often known as the ‘right hand’ or the ‘shadow’, the personal assistant to a sales consultant helps the sales consultant maximise their success. This person is required to have undertaken their Certificate IV in Property to conduct open inspections or have authority to sign contracts.
Sales Consultant
Often commencing their careers as sales assistants, sales consultants are experienced professionals that provide advice and guidance to their clients to achieve a successful sale of their home at a premium price, with the least amount of stress.

Usually, these properties are predominantly residential however commercial properties may form part of the portfolio.

The mindset of the ‘candidate’ has also evolved in line with marketplace changes. The reality of most agencies is that the best talent is happy and being well looked after in their current employment. They are not considering a move, let alone actively applying for roles, because they don’t need to. However, it is what Rae Russell Consulting does with them during this period that is more likely to see them join your company when they do ultimately change jobs.
Rae Russell Consulting’s recruitment strategy is proactive and puts the candidate experience at the heart of the process. By creating a bank of top tier talent we can minimise the unnecessary and expensive cost of recruitment. Building relationships over long periods of time with targeted talent is her focus; regardless of the time it may take to secure your next top recruit.
